What can I do with AquaSense Plankton?
Identify and count the plankton in a water sample, including harmful and toxic species, and track how each site changes over time. Manual counts vary from analyst to analyst and from site to site, which makes trends hard to trust. AquaSense applies one consistent standard to every sample: every cell classified and counted, uncertain cells sent to our experts, and every result saved so it can be audited and compared across depths, sites and seasons. Results show when a species moves outside its usual range, so your team knows when to act.
What can I do with AquaSense Health?
Animal health assessment is complex and subjective. Two trained people can score the same tissue differently, and generic image models trained without that expertise inherit the inconsistency, which makes them unreliable for clinical decisions. AquaSense Health is developed with veterinarians and PhDs in shrimp and fish pathology, who define what each score means and review the cases the model is unsure of. For shrimp, it screens the hepatopancreas at point of care and scores features such as lipid content and tubule condition quantitatively, so results can be compared between ponds, farms and seasons. Salmon and finfish health is in development.
Where does it work?
Plankton works globally, on any water sample. Animal health is built for shrimp, with salmon and finfish in development. Get in touch if you would like us to solve a problem we are not addressing yet.
What hardware do I need?
Any hardware. We can provide a standardised hardware stack, or adapt our core models to the hardware you already have.
Does it need an internet connection?
Our models usually run in the cloud, and on-device can be supplied for specific projects. We currently run models in remote rural areas without internet via Starlink, with no operational limitations.
What does expert review mean, and who are your experts?
We add expert judgement to our model output in near real-time through our Expert-in-the-Loop platform, for rare events and important decisions. Our experts are full-time scientists and taxonomists, trained on your conditions and needs.
